FBI asked to look for Jessie

Glendene Grant, the mother of missing Jessie Foster, said she's found some renewed hope her daughter will be found.

Grant, whose daughter went missing from Las Vegas in March, learned from a friend that Foster's case met the criteria to have the FBI get involved.

She said she called the Las Vegas police department, asked them to forward her daughter's case to the federal investigators, and later followed up with a call herself to the FBI.

"This is more than anything that has happened up to this point," Grant said.

Fundraising has led to about $11,000 being collected. Of that amount, $5,000 is now being offered as a reward for any leads on the disappearance of the young woman. The rest is being used to continue to pay a private investigator in Las Vegas.

Grant said an FBI investigator is expected to be assigned to the case in coming weeks.

Another yard sale is planned for tomorrow and Sunday at 834 Dominion St., from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. A similar sale held last week raised about $1,000, she said.

The wait for word on her daughter is taking its toll on her family, Grant said.

"A whole chunk of us is gone . . . But I don't think Jessie is dead. We'll find her."
